Hobbit: Peter Jackson's First Production Diary!

Anyone that has Facebook access and is any sort of Lord of the Rings fan should jump over to Peter Jackson's Facebook page and check out the first production diary of the Hobbit; personally, I am grateful that PJ is just as much a fan of the lore and series as any of us are, and that he is so generous with revealing the process behind making these legendary movies. That being said, a part of me feels that maybe it would have been better if something of this magnitude could have premiered on TheOneRing.net as a nod to one of the most dedicated Middle Earth fansites on the planet.

Interestingly, I get the feeling these diaries are more like well-produced home-movies to him. I can only imagine what it would be like to go back into a world you thought you left a decade ago; seeing the old sets already has me aching to see more. We are definitely lucky that MGM was able to get the Hobbit rights bought out, and that we will finally return to the Middle Earth.

If you haven't heard yet, AintItCool.com reported that The Hobbit will be shot in 48FPS! For what this actually means, check out the story; the short of it is that we will perhaps see the most beautiful live-action movie to date. The fact that movie will also be set in Middle Earth and contain one of the best stories ever told, well, can you say BILLIONS.

Here's hoping that Peter Jackson one day gets the rights to remake Star Wars. Maybe then we could actually crown him "Nerd Jesus."
